The Ocean
Calm one minute and stormy the next
The Ocean
Mad…
Waves crashing on to the shore
Battering rocks so much they turn smooth
Then retreating back into the dark sea
Like a cat slinking out of trouble
BUT
When the sea is calm…
The crystal clear water stretches over everything
like glass stretching over a window
I can see my reflection copying me
I am like the ocean
Mad one minute
Calm the next

Quiet…
Except waves crashing
On the shore,
Bald eagle’s
majestic cries,

rustle in the dense leaves
Salmon jump so
